GNCB Engineer Presents at Northeastern University
Boston, MA
GNCB Engineer Amy Jagaczewski was invited to present at Northeastern University’s Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (NUASCE) this March. NUASCE hosts a variety of civil and environmental engineering professionals throughout the year as a way to increase their students’ exposure to current civil engineering projects and to help them cultivate a better understanding of what it means to be a civil engineer. The student organization has been recognized nine times by ASCE as the most Outstanding ASCE Chapter in the nation – a tribute to their efforts to bring in industry professionals and to their success in engineering competitions such as Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge.
Ms. Jagaczewski graduated from Northeastern in 2012 with her B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. She was honored to be invited back to present to NUASCE on the topic of preservation engineering for the third time. Using the recently completed restoration of the Darien Congregational Church as a framework, Ms. Jagaczewski discussed New England Congregational Churches and the investigation, analysis, and repair of traditional timber framing.
