Eleanor Phetteplace, E.I.T. joins GNCB as Design Engineer
Old Saybrook, CT
GNCB Consulting Engineers, P.C. (GNCB) welcomes Eleanor Phetteplace of Roger Williams University (RWU) as our new Design Engineer. Ms. Phetteplace graduated this May with a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering with a concentration in structures and historic preservation. She completed two internships with GNCB during the course of her undergraduate curriculum and we look forward to welcoming her back to the team.
For her Senior Design Project, Ms. Phetteplace designed a pedestrian bridge across a 4-lane state highway intended to increase pedestrian and cyclist accessibility to RWU’s campus while sensitively addressing the historic district project site. She was the President of RWU’s chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and served two semesters as the Society of Women Engineers’ (SWE) chapter Vice President.
An avid traveler, Ms. Phetteplace was also an active member of Engineers without Borders (EWB) and traveled to Anconcito, Ecuador to install a water filtration system at the local elementary school. She participated in a study abroad program in Scotland in 2018. RWU recognized Ms. Phetteplace upon her graduation with the President’s Core Value Medallion for taking an active role in leadership and teaching.
